Today Dean and I go out for lunch at Wahoo's, a Mexican restaurant owned by a Chinese guy, then we spend the rest of the day playing with our toys. Dean is writing a tennis statistics application for his Palm Pilot, and is doing remarkable well, considering he used to be in management (pick your favorite Dilbertism and apply it here). We then have all sorts of fun processing some of his digital pictures and running them off on my printer. Once again, although I originally thought I was crazy to lug that thing around, it came in handy.

Dean, Randy and I had Chinese takeout for dinner, then watched West Wing. They went to bed, and I, as usual, worked on this site.

Earlier in the day I got an email from Roy Smith, an old fraternity brother that I haven't heard from since we worked together at Bethlehem Steel back in the 70's. He was told about my travels, and my web site, by another Theta Chi and mutual friend, Gene Mater. It will be interesting to see who else I hear from. Maybe some total strangers will pipe in with their comments.

More than one stable, responsible, hard-working, dedicated family man has expressed envy at my current situation and my ability to just travel when and where I like (in reality, it's not quite that simple, but close enough). All I can say is, "don't try this at home, folks". Seriously, I know that I've been granted a unique opportunity. To all you others out there, your time will come, if you really want it to, and you visualize making it happen - on good terms that won't require you to compromise your current stability and assets. For me, I had no idea this was going to happen just a few months ago. My life just took a sharp left turn, and this seemed like the thing to do.

Anyway - as usual, it's way too late and I'm starting to ramble, so I better drop this and get some sleep.
